Abstract. The paper introduces a model for representation of activities in office applications. For the model, activity is a reusable object-oriented component, with proper attributes and methods, employed in the dynamic modeling of the applications. The model emphasizes the intensive reuse of office objects. The model supposes, as a start point, the previous existence of a library of office objects, complex and multimedia, suitable to applications being modeled. The activity model supports conflicts when producing results (exit objects) from entry objects, identifying decision making processes by the office agents. The model offers methods of decomposition and abstraction (generalization and aggregation), permitting the reuse of activity classes and managing the complexity of office applications. The product of an application modeling is a diagram of activities that describes the flow and the transformations on the objects. The model of an office application, composed by the activity model and the object model, is capable of being implemented on a common office computer. The newly aspect of this work is defining activity as a reusable object, and introducing a model capable to make the definition of office applications, by the OIS designer, more direct and clear. More direct by emphasizing the modeling of dynamic aspects of OIS, and more clear by producing more concise models by considering already modeled and implemented the application objects. |
