The purpose of this edition of SSSA Special Publication no.2, which has titled Soil Testing and Plant Analysis, is to summarize current knowledge and experience on the use of soil and plant analysis as aids in appraising nutritional conditions and in predicting fertilizer needs. In this revision, the complimentary nature of soil and plant analyses is more apparent because the two topics are combined under the same cover. The discussions presented here are intended for use in the United States and abroad by operators of commercial and public laboratories, industrial agronomists and various representatives of the fertilizer industry, extension personnel, growers, college teachers and students, and by scientists in other fields such as botany, forestry, geology, ecology, and environmental science. |
