Tris-fructose-citric acid (Mathews), Tris-fructose-citric acid (Hahns) and Laiciphos diluents were used to preserve goat semen at refrigerant temperature. Hahns diluent was better than the other 2, giving 52% motile spermatozoa at 72 h of preservation of Osmanabadi and crossbred semen. Of 6 additives used with Mathews diluent (EDTA-potassium, EDTA-calcium, PG, seminal plasma, caffeine and chlorpromaxine hydrochloride), EDTA-potassium and PG were the most effective. |
