Time Domain Reflectometry measures a dielectric constant and the suction estimative obtained through correlation.
There are a few reports about the application of TDR in soil suction measurements. Phene et al (1988) was the first reference showing that TDR could be sucessfully applied to stimate soil suction. Their very short abstract, which did not give tests results, proposed that TDR measurements are independent of soil temperature, texture, and salinity. |
