The exotic predator Cryptolaemus montrouzieri has been used commercially in programs of biological control of mealybuga and aphids in several countries. The objective of this work was to study some parameters of the biology of that exotic predadoregarding to its multiplication. It was studied the capacity of laying eggs, the period of larval appearance, the duration of the larval, pre-pupal and pupal phases, the sexual maturity and total cycle of this exotic predador under laboratory conditions. The study was carried out in the Laboratory of Entomology of Embrapa Cassava and Fruit Crops, under temperature of26 mais ou menos 1oC, relative humidity of 65 mais ou menos 10% and 12 hours photophase. After the individualization of the eggs and appearance of the larva of the predador in Petri plants (5 cm of diameter). |
