To determine the primary production rate in two lotics systems, the Odum's method was used, according to the hourly differences of concentration of dissolved oxygen. The sites studied were the principal tributaries of the Lobo Reservoir (SP): Itaqueri river and Lobo river. Three periods of the year (October/1990, January/1991 and June/1991), were studied concerning nychthemeral variations of physical, chemical and biological parameters. The rate of gross primary production in these systems varied from 0,09gO2/m2.day to o,23gO2/m2.day. Values of primary production were high in January and the Itaqueri was more productive than Lobo river. |
