Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) play a major role as biofertilizer for sustainable agriculture. Nevertheless, it is still poorly documented whether inoculated AMF can successfully establish in field soils as exotic AMF and improve plant growth and productivity. Further, the fate of an exogenous inoculum is still poorly understood. Here, we pre-inoculated two cultivars (Tasset and Gola) of the fruit tree Ziziphus mauritiana (jujube) with the exotic AM fungus Rhizophagus irregularis isolate IR27 before transplantation in the field. In two experiments, tracking and quantification of R. irregularis IR27 were assessed in a 13-monthold jujube and an 18-month-old jujube in two fields located in Senegal. Our results showed that the inoculant R. irregularis IR27 was quantitatively traced and discriminated from native R. irregularis isolates in roots by using a qPCR assay targeting a agment of the RNA polymerase II gene (RPB1), and that the inoculum represented only fractions ranging from 11 to 15% of the Rhizophagus genus in the two plantations 13 and 18 months after transplantation, respectively. This study validates the use of the RPB1 gene as marker for a relative quantification of a mycorrhizal inoculant fungus isolate in the field. |

Caívas são remanescentes florestais utilizados para produção de erva-mate nativa e cujo estrato herbáceo é formado por pastagens naturalizadas, utilizadas por rebanho bovino sob pastejo contínuo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o uso de cinza calcítica e fosfato natural na produção da pastagem nativa e caracterizar a estrutura e composição florística de uma caíva utilizada há mais de 60 anos. A área experimental de 4.320 m2 foi demarcada dentro de uma caíva de aproximadamente 10 ha, localizada em uma propriedade rural. Foi utilizado delineamento de blocos completos casualizados, com três repetições, em arranjo bifatorial, sendo testados quatro doses de cinza calcítica (0, 3, 6 e 9 t/ha), a qual possui poder de neutralizar a acidez do solo, e duas doses de fosfato natural de Gafsa (0 e 600 kg/ha), perfazendo oito tratamentos. No componente florestal foram medidos e identificados todos os indivíduos com DAP ≥ 5 cm e calculados os parâmetros fitossociológicos de densidade, frequência, dominância e valor de importância. As espécies que contribuíram para os maiores valores de importância foram: Ilex paraguariensis, Mosiera prismatica, Ocotea porosa e Rollinia rugulosa. Do total de 428 indivíduos arbóreos, a erva-mate representou 50,5%. Houve efeito significativo da interação entre cinza calcítica e fosfato natural com aumento da produção de massa seca do pasto nativo com o uso desses insumos |
