Abstract: Aggressive behaviour at the feeding trough was observed for 10 min daily over 10 days in 110 mature does weighing 22-7-50-2 kg. With a descending order of dominance, based on relative aggressiveness, body weight, mohair production, fibre diameter and number of oestrous cycles per yr decreased. The following correlations were highly significant: aggressiveness with body weight (0-59); body weight with mohair production (0-62); mohair production with fibre diameter (0*40). Agonistic behaviour showed no significant relationship with mohair production, fibre diameter or number of oestrous cycles per yr. Cyclic activity showed no significant relationship with body weight, mohair production or fibre diameter. |
