This paper describles studies to investigate thisphenomenon, which aimed first to measured the haemodynamic effects of the intravenous injection of 10 ml of water in conscious sheep; secondly, to examine the relationship between these haemodynamic effects and the osmolalities of the soloutions injected; thirdly, to examine the effect of changing the rate and side of injection of the solutions and fouthly to investigate the possible mechanisms of the observed haemodynamic effects. |
