Ewe s gaine d 4 kg in the 8 week s prio r to mating . Group s on th e NF E statio n ha d 3% barrennes s an d 55% twinning ; thos e on th e FE statio n ha d Il%an d 38%. Resistanc e to FE reduce d barrennes s from 18 to IO%butdi d not increas e twinning . Estimate d lambingpercentage s were 150 on th e NF E station , 113 on th e FE . Th e FE facto r wa s associate d wit h som e of th e barrennes s bu t most of the reproductiv e loss appeare d du e to a facto r whic h imitate d an oestrogen . Th e oestrogeni c mycotox m zearalenone, produce d by som e pastur e Fusaria , wa s detecte d in pastur e samplescollecte d from the FE bu t not from th e NFE station. |
