About 10 % of the 896 species of ticks (Ixodida) are involved in the transmission of pathogens. Why are hematophagous , these mites are predisposed to eat many kinds of microorganisms in their blood meal. Thus , the role of Rhipicephalus sanguineus in the epidemiology of Canine Visceral Leishmaniasis has been of interest to many researchers. |
