Information related to soil moisture in integrated crop-livestock-forest systems (ICLF) are controversial, thus an experiment was carried out at Embrapa Beef Cattle, Campo Grande-MS, in order to assess soil moisture in different cropping systems. Treatments consisted of eight cropping systems, being ICLF systems, forage grass monoculture and eucalyptus, having a native vegetation plot as reference. Soil moisture was measured at depths ranging from 0 to 0.2 and 0.2 to 0.4 m. Systems with higher density of eucalyptus trees presented lower levels of soil moisture, regardless of forage species and pasture height in the system, in both depths. |
