Response of Valencia orange trees to fertilization with nitrogen, and potassium, Results for a 5 yeare period of a long term fertilization NPK experiment in old Valencia orange trees, is givea here. the yield response to applications of 1 kilogramo of N per tree per year was excelent. The fruit sizo was reduced and the percent of juice, brix and acid incremented by the use of this N rate. The N foliar contents were directly relationed with the N fertilizer levels of the trees. There were not P or K influence on the yields or the fruit quality, exeept that a increase of the fruit number was obtained by the addition of P with the highest rate of N. The fertilization with P and K resulted in a acumulation of these elements in the soil, but the foliar contents were influenced strongly by the N fertilization levels. |
