Digestion with KOH of such caprine fetal tissues as liver, spleen and portal vein revealed the presence of Demodex caprae in different stages of its life-cycle. D. caprae, though an ectoparasite, has been observed in a number of organs of the adult hosts including the male and female genital organs, mammary gland and intestine suggestive of its endoparasitic phase. |
