The chemical composition and nutritive values of some common grasses in Uganda were examined with special reference to the ten month period followinf the initial two months growth. Much bigger differences between them were in protein values than in starch equivalent. Starch equivalent appeared to be genrally sufficient for the maintenance requirement of cattle throughout the year. Digestible crude protein values low for several months of the year. |
