The milk N production and the body weight changes were related to the level and quality of N intake (in 5 trials) and also to the variations of energy intake at the beniginning of lactation (in one trial). The quantity of protein truly digestible in the small intestine (PDI) was estimated. The response of milk protein (g/g PDI increase) against level PDI relative to needs obeys well enough to the law of diminishing reurns. |
