Abstracts: In comparison to other lactating ruminants, there is no doubt that the dairy goat has certain features that merit attention and exploitation. It is also relevant to note that much of what is known about milk fat synthesis and the physiological mechanisms involved relates to the dairy goat. It is of considerable interest therefore to examine the role of goats as dairy animals in the context of the search for efficiency of the livestock resources. |
