[Milk consumption and growth of malagueña sucklingikids]. Abstract: 98 Malagueña kids (40 femalesand 58 malesfrom, twin birth were tested. The live weight as well as the amounts of milk consumed were the controls we carried out on a weekly basis. The milk consumption was augmented during the first four weeks of lactation (806 to 1121 g) which then descended for the remaining period. There were no significant differences due to sex. The live weight of the kids varied from 3.17 kgto. 8.8 kg at weaning, with a mean growth velocity of 135 g/day. The growth was influenced by sex and birth weight of the kids. The mean transformation index was 7.94, falling from the first to the third week, which from then on increased concomitantly with the age increase of the kids. Para la realización del presente trabajo controlamos a un total de 98 chivos (40 hembras y 58 machos) de raza malagueña, procedentes de parto doble. Tanto para el consumo de leche como para el crecimiento, en peso vivo, los controles se efectuaron semanalmente. El consumo de leche aumenta desde la primera semana (806 g/día) hasta la 4.1 0121 g/ día) para descender en las dos restantes. |
