Bio-energy made from renewable resources is â very high priority item in Brazil '5 agriculture and energy policy. During the past agricultural year 3,5 million cubic meters of alcohol were made, principally from sugarcane. The sugarcane is normally harvested from June to November and the sugar mi11s and distil1aries are idle from December to May. Sweet scrghum p1anted from September to December is normal1y harvested four months 1ater, or from January to May. |
