Crazing management is a compromise between plant and animal relationship. Blaser et al. (1962) indicate that grazing practices influence pastures in at least four ways: (1) total and seasonal yelds, (2) longevity of plant species, (3) botanical composition, and (4) physiological stage of growth. These effects have been well demonstrated by Peterson and Hagan (1953) using diferrent clipping frequencies and by Brougham (1960) in a grazing experiment with sheep in which marked effects on survival, botanical composition and yield of dry matter were observed after severe grazing during different seasons. |
