Nine species of Paropsis, defoliators of eucalypts, occur in Tasmania. These species are indicated by acode; seven of them are identifiable from the literature, viz P. tasmanica Baly, P . rubidipes Blackburn, P.di/atutaErichson,P . incarnufaErichson, P. porosa Erichson, P. aegrota Boisduvaland P. CharybdisStBI. Thefirst five of these seven were originally described from Tasmanian material. A key to adults is given, andadults, larvae and eggs are described and figured. Records of Eucalyprus species on which each species ofParopsb was found at each collecting locality are given. |
