We show here that nanostructured thin films of conducting polymers (polypyrrole, polyaniline and derivatives) throughout a.c. measurements has been advantageous. High sensitivity is achieved when interdigitated electrodes are coated with these nanostructured films (~2 nm thick per deposited layer), which are able to detect very small changes in conductivity and dielectric properties of the materials comprising individual sensing units in contact with a liquid medium. |
