Many species of the genus Annona are known for their edible fruits and their medicinal and insecticidal properties. Substances such as flavonoids, alkaloids and diterpenes are very common in Annonaceae. From Annona cacans we have isolated the following flavonoids: 4 -hydroxy, 7,3',4' -trimethoxy flavanone; 4,3'- dihydroxy, 7,4'-dimethoxyflavanone from the hexane and dichloromethane extracts of stems and flowers, and rutin from leaf extracxts. Some aporphine alkaloids were isolated from stem. One of them was identified as asimilobine. from fruits, we isolated p-coumaric acid as its methylated derivative. The identifications were performed by means of spectral methods: UV, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. |
