This study assessed nerve endings in the vaginal fornix and the cervix of five Dorper ewes and five Saanen does, quantifying their distribution within epithelial and connective tissues, providing a preliminary assessment of the potential painful conditions they represent. Nerve endings were detected in all animals, with variations in their quantity among the organs and tissues analyzed. Overall, the presence and distribution of nerve endings suggest a sensory role, implicating a potential sensitivity to nociceptive stimuli in these organs. |
