White mold, or Sclerotinia rot, is a devastating disease of many crops cultivated under cool and wet conditions. Although sweet pepper is not among the most affected crops, it is subject to losses of up to 40% whenever favorable environmental conditions occur. This chapter describes symptoms of the disease, identifies its causal agent, explains its disease cycle and epidemiology, and recommends strategies for its management. Two figures are included along with a list of references. |
