60 repeat breeder crossbred cows were treated with gentamicin sulfate, ampicillin-cloxacillin combination and cephalexin at 2 dose levels dissolved in 25 ml of distilled water. The antibiotics were administered in the uterus 24 h after insemination. 90% conception rate was achieved at the dose rate of 1.5 g and 750 mg of cephalexin. The conception rates with 1 g and 500 mg of ampicillin-cloxacillin combination were 70 and 50%, respectively. |
