Abstract: The effect of intravenous treatment with an appetite stimulant benzodiazepine-derivative Brotizolam (MederantilReg., Boehringer Ingelheim Ltd., UK) on voluntary feed intake by healthy cattle and sheep was investigated. Mederantil 0.2 and 0.8 mg active ingredient/100 kg body weight given to cattle and sheep, respectively increased DM during the first 4 h after injection. Grass silage intake was increased by about of 36%, only during in the first hour after treatment. |
