20 Nali ewes were given PGF2 alpha on day 9 of the oestrous cycle, while 4 ewes were untreated controls. Another 16 ewes received 3 injections, each of 25 mg progesterone, at 7-day intervals. In the 3 groups resp., the percentage of coming into synchronized oestrus was 100, 0 and 68.75. The interval from treatment to the onset of oestrus averaged 49, 222 and 93 h resp. (P<0.01), the duration of oestrus 25.50, 33.33 and 26.63 h, and cycle length 12.92 18.33 and 18.58 days (P<0.05). |
