Data collected at 31, 70 and 22 parturitions producing Black Bengal (BB), BB X Jamnapari and BB X Beetal kids are tabulated according to type of birth. Kid birth weight averaged 1.4, 1.8 and 1.7 kg resp. for singles and 2.3, 2.9 and 3.0 kg for twin pairs, differences between breed groups being significant. Corresponding figures for gestation length were 142.6, 143.1 and 142.4 days and 140.9, 141.0 and 139.3 days. Differences between breed types were not significant. |
