Abstract: 132 newborn lambs were studied in spring and autumn 1975, representing Malpuras and Sonadis and their crosses with Dorset and Suffolk. Season of birth and genotype did not significantly affect lamb survival up to 3 h from birth, but birthcoat type (graded from very fine to very coarse) had a significant effect, and rectal temp. at 0, 1 and 3 h had a highly significant effect. |
