Pulmonary blastomycosis forming caseo-calcified mycotic granuloma in a sheep and a goat are described. The yeast-like fungus, 6-30 .mu. in diameter, and showing single and multiple buddings in tissue sections, morphologically resembled Blastomyces (Paracoccidioides) brasiliensis. Aspergillus-like infections showing multiple chronic suppurative nodules were recorded in the lungs of 1 sheep and 2 goats. Actinomycetes infection due to Nocardia sp. that form tubercles and consolidation in the lungs of 11 sheep and 9 goats are described. |
