Data collected on an unspecified number of sheep in a Mandya flock during 1969-72 were analysed. Mean gestation length was 148.16 plus or minus 0.51 days (CV 8.23%). It was 3-5 days longer for male than for female lambs, the difference being highly significant. Light or heavy lambs had a shorter gestation length than lambs of intermediate birth weight, but the effect was not significant. |
