The scopeof the study was also extended to investigate the effects of some no-genetic factors influencing the body weigths at differents ages. A least-squares analysis was carried out on data collected during 1969-72 on 434 Mandya Lambs. Least-squares means for live weight at birth and at 3, 6, 9 and 12 mth of age were 2.02, 9.44, 14.61, 17.73 and 21.34 kg resp. Age of dam had a significant effect on live weight at all ages. Month of lambing significantly affected live weight at 3-12 mth but not birth weight. |
