The pyrometallurgical process for obtaining iron-nickel involves a stage of calcination where is produced a residue described as a dust of fine black grains. This material has several metallic components and its land disposition represents a risk for water contamination. The aim of this study was to evaluate the uptake, the elimination and the potential bioaccumulation of metals in fish exposed to a sample of calcination dust from nickel mining. |
