According to estimates of the International Energy Agency (IEA) until the year 2030, biofuels will represent about 7% of total fuel used in transportation, having at the same time the European Union, the United States and Brazil as the main producers and consumers. This expected growth for the international market is due to increase in oil prices and also because the developed countries that signed the Kyoto Protocol has pledged to reduce their emissions of pollutant gases. |
