Abstract: A 30-ac field containing a uniform stand of Agropyron cristatum and a variable stand of Euphorbia esula was grazed from May to Sept. by 45 mature ewes over a 5-year period (1952-6). The area was divided into 4 replicates. Results indicated that grazing significantly reduced the average basal area of E. esula and significantly increased that of A. cristatum. At least 4 years of grazing were required before control of the weed became apparent.-R.H. F. |
