Live weight, age, sex and other information were collected on 4 occasions over 10 months on a flock of 64 ear-tagged feral goats and their kids run on a hill country sheep farm. Feral kids grew much more slowly than lambs, this observation being related to the mature size of the species. Saanen X feral kids grew much faster than feral kids. The goat as a possible farm animal is discussed. |
