The effect of MDM on seven grain sorghum lines and six hybrids involving these seven lines was studied. The lines and hybrids differed widely in their reaction to this disease. The virus was observed to cause stunting, delayed flowering, sterility, reddening of the leaves and a reduction in yield as high as 47,6 percent. The most resistant lines were Tx 414, Martin and Tx 415, while Combine Kafir-60, Redlan and Tx 412 were most susceptible. Among the hybrids, RS 621 and RS 625 were the most resistant. |
