The production of pigmeat in Brazil has grown substantially over the last few decades and the methods of production have been brought up to date. Most of the Brazilian production takes place in the southern regions where Santa Catarina is the most specialized state. During the period 1977-84 the increase in the average rate of animals slaughtered was 12.54% per year while in the same period the pigmeat production in Brazil increased on average 1.29% per year |
