Abstrac: In Southern Brazil, most stone fruit nurseries use seedlings of canning peach cultivars (Prunus persica [L.] Batsch) to produce rootstocks. This practice significantly contributes to tree non-uniformity, low yield, and low orchard longevity. The aim of this research was to evaluate tree production, productivity per hectare, and yield efficiency of ‘BRS-Kampai’ own-rooted peach trees and budded trees on clonal rootstocks under field conditions without an irrigation system in Pelotas-RS, Brazil. The trial was carried out using a randomized blocks design with 16 treatments and four replications of one tree per plot. Evaluations were made in the 6th and 7th years of orchard age (2020 and 2021, respectively). Tree vigor at 7 years old was not influenced by rootstocks or own-rooted trees. Fruit weight, fruit number per tree, yield efficiency, fruit yield per tree, and fruit yield per hectare were influenced by rootstocks and own-rooted trees of ‘BRS-Kampai’. ‘Cadaman®’ (P. persica × P. davidiana), G × N.9 (P. persica × P. dulcis), ‘Ishtara®’ (P. cerasifera × P. salicina) × (P. cerasifera × P. persica), ‘Nemared’ (P. persica), and ‘Santa Rosa’ (P. salicina) do not have potential as rootstock for ‘BRS Kampai’ peach due to irregular scion sprouting, low yield efficiency, production of small fruits, and/or low fruit yield per tree. Own-rooted ‘BRS-Kampai’ peach trees are vigorous, and are more productive than trees budded on the traditional ‘Capdeboscq’. ‘Flordaguard’ (P. persica) is the best-tested rootstock, as it is vigorous, yield efficient, and highly productive.
