The presence in Australia of thiabendazole resistant Haemonchus contortus was reported
by Smeal et all (1968) and the incidence of resistance in a large sheep population is des-
cribed by Webb et all (1978). Information is required on the efficiency of alternative anthel-
minties to control haemonchosis in endemic areas and Campbell et all (1978) have repor-
ted the responses obtained with some non-benzimidazole anthelminties against a single
laboratory strain resistant to thiabendazole. This letter reports the efficiency of various an-
thelmintics against 4 field populations of H. contortus which showed resistance to thia-
bendazole. |
