This study was conducted at the National Research Center for Corn and Sorghum, EMBRAPA, Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 1983, with the objective to quantify the effect of surface traffic on corn yield. Five different amounts of tractor traffic having a contact pressure of 0,70 and 0,78 kg/GM 70 passes, 1, 5, 10, 10 and subsoiling along with two irrigation levels in a split plot design were tested. Soil characteriszation of the plots was performed before and after the tractor passes at various depths. There were no statically significant differences among the ten treatments. |
