Technologies allow Extension to provide timely and flexible programs and information to specialized audiences. Challenges in implementing new technologies include: 1) determining how to educate Extension professionals and clientele in using and benefiting from new systems, and 2) determining how to manage efficiently the large amounts of new information available to Extension professionals. Training users on new technology is a necessary component of technology adoption. Educating users on the benefits of using the technology in particular projects eases the fear of the skeptical. The most important recommendation is to keep the user focused on the objectives of using the new technology. |
