RESUMO - A agricultura urbana (AU) é um fenômeno caracterizado pela produção agrícola no perímetro urbano, tanto para fins alimentícios de subsistência quanto para geração de renda, e seus benefícios excedem os relacionados à segurança alimentar e nutricional (SAN), quando usada como ferramenta de planejamento urbano. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar as transformações causadas pela AU, com ênfase em dois bairros da região sul de Curitiba, PR. Observaram-se o aumento da qualidade de vida, a melhoria estética na paisagem, o aumento da sensação de segurança e inclusão, e o sentimento de topofilia da comunidade local, conhecida pelo estigma de violência e pobreza. A AU é utilizada no city marketing da cidade, e parte de sua continuidade está ameaçada pelo possível fim da parceria com a concessionária de energia elétrica e pela pressão do mercado imobiliário; porém, há uma conformidade entre a AU curitibana e o conceito sustentável Continuous Productive Urban Landscapes (CPULs), potencializando o poder da AU. Grande parte dos resultados deste artigo foram obtidos durante uma pesquisa de mestrado, e a continuidade da pesquisa foi possível mesmo à distância, por meio do acompanhamento de notícias nas mídias, contatos com lideranças envolvidas e novas leituras. ABSTRACT - Urban agriculture (UA) is a phenomenon characterized by agricultural production in the urban perimeter, both for subsistence food purposes and for income generation, and its benefits exceed those related to food security, when used as a tool for urban planning. The objective of this article is to present the transformations caused by UA, with emphasis on two neighborhoods in the southern region of Curitiba, PR, Brazil. The transformations observed were the increase in quality of life, the aesthetic improvement in the landscape, the increase in the sense of security and inclusion, the feeling of topophilia in the local community, known for the stigma of violence and poverty. The UA is used in the city marketing and part of its continuity is threatened by the possible end of the partnership with the electricity utility and by the pressure from the real estate market, but there is a conformity between Curitiba?s UA and the sustainable concept Continuous Productive Urban Landscapes (CPULs), potentiating the power of the UA. Most of the results of this article were obtained during a master?s research and the continuity of the research was possible even at a distance, through the monitoring of news in the media, contacts with involved leaderships and new readings. Seed color, brightness and texture are important aspects for the consumption of immature beans. This study aimed to estimate the phenotypic variability among thirty cowpea genotypes for immature seed harvesting, in order to guide breeding programs. The experiment was carried out in a randomized blocks design, with three replications. The evaluated traits were immature seeds yield, pods and dry seeds production, number of immature pods, 100-immature seeds weight, immature pods length, number of seeds per immature pod, cooking time, harvesting period of immature pods, seed color, pod color, plant growth habit, opening of immature pods, seed threshing from immature pods, cultivation value and seed browning after threshing. Anova and three clustering methods were applied: UPGMA using the Jaccard coefficient of similarity; modified Tocher method based on the Gower algorithm; and k-means. All the analyses were performed based on the variable means of experiments evaluated in six environments. A statistically significant phenotypic variability was observed among all the quantitative traits. Discrepancies occurred in the accessions grouping and number of clusters. The accession BRS Acauã, in one group, and P508 and PCCR3F6L15, in other groups, showed a good quality for immature grain harvesting, were consistently grouped into different clusters and are recommended for use as parents in the development of new cultivars. |
