Brazilian soils are known to be highly weathered, with high phosphorus adsorption capacity, leading to a P-deficient condition. Such deficiency represents one of the main constraints to plant growth. In order to develop efficient P management strategies in tropical soils, the availability of inorganic (Pi) and organic (Po) phosphorus, as well as the residual effects of P-fertilizers must be understood. Such domain leads to the idea that plant residues may affect P-fractions on these soils and may act as an important P source for crops. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of brachiaria grass on the distribuition of Pi and Po fractions in soils fertilized with different P sources. |
