The system of planting a mixture of varieties to control Black Sigatoka is being praticed in Thailand for bananas intended for the local markets. The country, however, antecipates problems on disease management when it goes to commercial production of bananas for export. Mr. Polprasid emphasized Thailand's interest participate in the international Musa Testing Program. Thailand is looking foward to new and promising cultivars which can be grown successfully in the country to enrich their small pool of existing commercial varieties. |
