In a factorial design study 24 each of lactating Murrah buffaloes and crossbred goats in early lactation were divided into 4 groups and given protein 70 and 100% and energy 100 and 130% of National Research Council levels. Except for crude fibre, the goats digested all nutrients better than did the buffaloes. Buffaloes consumed more DM/kg W0.75 than did goats but, per 100 kg bodyweight the converse was true. |
