A study was carried out in a greenhouse to compare responses of banana `Prata' scion yield todiferent BAP concentrations by `in vivo' method of rapid propagation. The tested treatment were: T1 = 0.0 mg/l BAP; T2 = 5.0: T3 = 10.0 ant T4 - 20.0, applied superficially to the rhizome and sid buds. The most efficient treatment applied to the rhizomes was 10.0 mg of BAP that yield 5.82 initial buds resulting in 4.47 treated suckers. Each treated sucker yielded 6.66 scions, which tumed in 29. 63 scions by rhizome. A trend in precocity was observed when 10 mg/l of BAP was used: it gave 64.16 days interval from sucker planting to sucker treatment time; 40.26 days from sucker treatment to scion harvest, and 104.82 days of total cycle, which means a yield of one scion each 3.51 days.xn. |
