The efficacy of Thiabendazole, Pyrantel tartrate and Krimnos was tried in different groups of goats experimentally infected with Haemonchus spp. Haemonchus infection decreased
total erythrocyte count, haemoglobin, packed cell volume and leucocytopenia. Thiaben-
dazole and Pyrantel tartrate removed worms in 3 days and 7 days, respectively. The blood
picture of the host returned to normal in 3 weeks post-treatment both in case of thiaben-
dazole and Pyrantel tartrate. Krimnos produced no effect and did not change the blood
picture of infected goats. |
