The data from 133 field experiments designed as semi-latin square and conducted by the Field Husbandry department of the University of Saskatchewan during the years 1933 to 1946 were used to study the efficiency of the semilatin square in relation to the common randomized block design. It was found that when rows were taken as bloken as blocks, to simulate a randomized block design, the semilatin square was 18 per cent more efficient that randomized block. When columns were used as blocks the semi-latin square was 68 per cent more efficient that the randomized block. |
